General rules for
passengers
1. Enquiries: application for information not contained in Pakistan
Railway time table book should be made direct to the station Master or
the enquire office where there is one. Passengers are liable to be
misled by accepting information from other sources.
2. Railway time: Pakistan standard time is kept at all stations and is
reckoned from midnight-to-midnight thus
0-30 is 12-30a.m, 13-0 is 1-00p.m, 18-0 is 6-00p.m, 19-55is 7-55p.m,
23-13 is 11-13p.m, and 24-0 is midnight.
3. Reserved accommodation for ladies: Compartment set apart for the
exclusive use of females are not to be occupied by mail passenger, under
any circumstances even when such carriage or compartment is running
vacant.
4. Booking of passengers: Tickets are issued subject to the conditions of
there being room available in the train for which the tickets are issued
and are available only by the particular train for which they are issued
except

where otherwise provided.
Tickets issued to passenger shall be available only from the date and
for the period specified by the Railway Administration by which they are
issued. Passenger fares must in all cases, be prepaid. Tickets are not
transferable.
5. Fares of children: Children three years of age and under are carried
free. Children over three years of age and under then years, are charged
half fares. Relatives or friends.
6. Break of journey: Holders of single journey tickets for more than
240km actual distance, are allowed to break journey at one or more
stations whose distance apart are in excess of 240km at the rate of one
day for every 240km or part thereof, in addition to the time made until
a distance of more than 240km has been traveled from the starting
station.
Note: the above facility is not allowed to the passengers who have their
accommodation reserved from starting station to destination station by
the specific train.
